An introduction into Ableton's software & hardware

This September, we are hosting two workshops supported by Ableton focusing on both their hardware and software - Ableton Move & Ableton Live.

Ableton MOVE

Across three weeks, Sarah Roellinger Shaikh (aka Monibi), certified Ableton Trainer, DJ, producer, sound engineer, and label head of Low End Therapy Records, will guide beginners into music making on Move, at the Ableton Headquarters Learning Lounge. Move is Ableton's newest compact, standalone and battery-powered hardware, allowing users to create music on the go, as well connecting it to Ableton Live. These sessions are aimed at complete beginners looking to start their music production journey and will run from September 1 - 15.

Ableton LIVE

Over at our Niemetzstraße space, Dr. Banu Çiçek Tülu, sound artist, music producer, DJ, and lecturer at Berlins University of the Arts will be leading Ableton Live sessions. Participants are invited to bring an unfinished project to the sessions, working through them via compositional exercises, creative ideation, and peer-led feedback. Projects coming out of the workshop series will have the opportunity to be featured in a dedicated radio show, showcasing the tracks created during the workshops. The course will run from September 14 - 28 with a final track feedback session on November 2.

Please note it is not possible to participate in both workshops. Ableton Move sessions with Monibi are open to beginners with little to no experience only. Applicants with prior experience are invited to apply to the Ableton Live workshops with Banu.
