Refuge Worldwide's label drops its third release on July 17th.
By Staff
In November 2025, Mr. Poetivist - a Ghanaian poet, writer and curator - dropped by the Refuge Worldwide space unannounced, three years after having submitted a guest show remotely for the radio. We were excited for the surprise visit and to meet this talented poet, so we invited him downstairs into our production studio to record. Without even a moment to prepare, he freestyled a poem dedicated to the people of Sudan. This special moment needed to be captured and shared, so we asked friends of the station NikNak, Ivano Tetelepta, Myles Morgan and our studio technician who made the recording, gugol maps, to make music from the vocal. That’s what you hear on this new EP, Revolution At Dawn. All proceeds from the EP sales, as well as a donation from Refuge, will be sent to Sudanese American Physicians Association, a charity working to enhance healthcare access, deliver medical aid and foster community resilience during wartime in Sudan.
Artwork by Irene Fernández Arcas and mastering by Monibi. Thanks also to Dean Driscoll of Some Pulp for their support with distribution.
