Wedding SZN | Jivan Kaur

When the two primary and defining principles of South Asian women are family and religion, their bodies become sites of negotiation. In my home, weddings were often the setting where these pressures were especially visible. Drawing from a recent trip to Punjab for a friend’s family wedding, Wedding SZN is an archive of sound and memory: Punjabi music, field recordings, voice notes, and fragments of lived experience.
