Salaam/Peace - hamba kahle | Femdelic & Boeta gee

With Femdelic and Boeta gee

I spent four months in Cape Town, and the experience deeply inspired me. I was moved by the incredible density of artists, DJs, selectors, and musicians, by the resilience of my African brothers and sisters, and by the spirituality that seems to be woven into everything the people I met create, share, and touch. Along the way, I met and discovered many inspiring souls. One of them is Boeta Gee. I first came across him through his extraordinary artwork, and later I had the chance to witness him sharing music from what I can only imagine is a vast and lovingly curated record collection.

It's a real pleasure to introduce him to my audience and to share a glimpse of his creative world with you. For the next hour, he will guide us on a musical journey with a heartfelt dedication to the legendary Abdullah Ibrahim.

May this selection remind us that music is more than sound—it is memory, prayer, resistance, and connection. A language that carries the wisdom of those who came before us and continues to bring us together across oceans, generations, and spirits.

In honour of our great elder, ABDULLAH IBRAHIM, who transitioned on 15 june 2026. we give thanks for the years you dedicated in pursuit of our physical and spiritual freedom. tramakassie* hamba kahle** innā li-llāhi wa-ʾinnā ʾilayhi rājiʿūn***
