POST: Sounds of Places Palestine Special | P Kirn & Ibrahim Owais

With P Kirn and Ibrahim Owais

Recorded live in Bethlehem, Palestine for Radio AlHara in May 2024, this special edition was produced for Sounds of Places, a gathering and sound intervention in the occupied Cremisan Valley, which is threatened by the ongoing construction of Israel's separation barrier.

Features field recordings by P KIRN, Sofia Lambrou, and the Sounds of Places crew from around the valley, Bethlehem, and the King Hussein Crossing into Jordan, plus original music and live improvisation (including cameos by Ibrahim Owais and Mai Mai Mai, plus a recording of Ayman of Delia Arts Center speaking earlier this month from Rafah.

Sounds of Places seeks to create sonic analogies beyond the spatial limit every sound emerges from. In that sense, it builds upon and expands existing strategies to reclaim our ever-renewed sense of belonging.
