I’m Monstera Occulta, a music selectress and radio host based in Brussels, Belgium.

For me, radio is one of the best ways to share the music we love, whether it’s setting dancefloors on fire or taking you on a more dreamy or introspective journey.

As a true music lover, I explore different styles of music in my research and diggings – sometimes disco and groovy, sometimes darker and deeper.

But I’m always keen to highlight as many artists as possible from the SWANA region (South-West Asia and North Africa) and the diasporas, as I myself come from a Moroccan immigrant background.

For this selection, I’ve chosen to share with you some of my favourite tracks and artists from the Maghreb, the Arab world and Iran, in ambient, experimental and spoken-word styles.
