With Miriam Siré Camara and Lerato Shadi
soul rebels with Miriam Siré Camara
Dive into an inspiring hour of music, meaning, and movement as "soul rebels" unites global changemakers to share the soundtracks of their activism. This show emphasizes music as memory, resistance, and survival, showcasing voices that demand to be felt rather than merely heard. It's a celebration of the stories embedded in rhythm and sound, highlighting the journeys of those who challenge the status quo.
In this episode, Lerato Shadi, a South African performance artist based in Berlin, will be my guest. Through video, performance, and installation, her work confronts the violence of historical erasure and structural exclusion, fighting for a more inclusive and accurate narrative that centers—rather than merely includes—marginalized bodies. Shadi challenges audiences to examine their own complicity in dominant Western histories, using repetitive processes and the Tswana language to make visible what has been overlooked or deliberately obscured. Her practice is deeply political: a refusal to sanction problematic narratives through inactivity.
Tune in to "soul rebels," where rhythm meets revolution and listeners embark on a journey of inspiration for change on a local and global scale. Listen with an open heart …
