Masala Movement is a non-profit platform for transcultural creativity and community. Since 2004, the initiative has been connecting people, ideas, and cultural practices to challenge stereotypes and contribute to a more inclusive society. With roots in post-migrant perspectives, Masala Movement explores identity, memory, and belonging – through music, art, and shared experiences. Since 2020, the Masala Movement Music Podcast has been releasing monthly mixes and conversations that bring together diverse musical influences from around the world. In 2023, the platform expanded into a label, Masala Movement Records, focusing on cross-cultural sounds and creative collaboration. For this special show, music producer Todh Teri is joined by Masala Movement’s co-founder and Creative Director for a one-hour conversation and listening session. Together, they reflect on the journey of Masala Movement and share a personal selection of records that have inspired and shaped their work and lives.
