Echoes of the Screen | COSMOS & Balkis Guetta (SoundSisters Morocco)

Filmmaker and curator Balkis Guetta (LE 18 Marrakech & SoundSisters Morocco) introduces her mixtape: “As you’ll hear, I drew inspiration from my current mood and my life, which is pretty much torn between cinema and music. Just like my two collectives, Film w Glissa and Soundsisters Morocco, I have put together a set based on the films we have screened and the music we have played during our DJ sets. It’s a mostly electronic set that also draws inspiration from more traditional styles like Gnaoua and Cheikhat. You’ll find only independent producers and singers from North Africa. I hope you enjoy it.”
