Balkis Guetta (SoundSisters Morocco)

Balkis Guetta is a filmmaker and a curator. Of North African descent, she aspires to contribute to an art scene that is committed to the South with a background in sociology and cinema. She has worked at the multidisciplinary art centre LE 18 Marrakech as a programmer. She co-founded ‘Film w Glissa’ an independent film festival in Marrakech, which aims to promote emerging and independent cinema from the so called “Global South”. She’s now part of the SoundSisters Morocco collective, an only DJ women group based in Marrakech.
