My Dad came from Congo Brazzaville to Dresden for his studies in 1981. During his first decade in Germany, he used to buy and play records not only in Dresden but also in West-Berlin. While driving to Paris together for my niece's marriage, we had the time to talk about his twenties, clubs, music, and the GDR ... so I asked him to record a little interview.
Children have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to intimate them.
