aequa Radio featuring Bruno Gola | Sarj

With Sarj

aequa Radio aims to spotlight people who are worldbuilding amid the intersecting, accelerating collapses of our time. Who are the ones helping us re-member our bodies as the literal body of the earth? Who are the ones midwifing new/old beautiful ways of being into this world, even as we try our best to topple empire and kick our addiction to modernity in the process? And what music and sounds are moving and will move us as we process these changes?

In terms of episodes, I guess the “50s” of aequa Radio are a chance for me to show off some of the behind-the-scenes folks who have changed my own little world, helped shape my worldviews, and made Berlin feel like home in recent years. Episode #52 features another super-special-to-me being, Bruno Gola.

Gola, as I have known him, is a wildly talented, stupid-smart, endlessly creative and powerfully playful computational artist, sound artist and live coder. He’s an assistant professor of “Generative Kunst / Computational Art” at Berlin’s Universität der Künste, a member of the society for nontrivial pursuits (s4ntp), co-host of the event series algomystica (usually hosted at Panke), as well as co-initiator and co-host of Show Us Your Screens (a monthly live hack night held at offline space). We became friends over hours-long, coffee-and-croissant-fueled chats about things like relationship anarchy, psychology, sci-fi, heavy films, weird music, cognition, knowledge systems, reality, quantum physics, love, existence…all the little things in life, eh?

The interview featured in this episode was recorded at Gola’s studio on Monday, October 19th, 2026.
