elliephunk is an avid SoundCloud surfer, habitual playlist curator, and old-time CD collector who has an unwavering passion for finding music that moves the soul. Growing up between Taipei and Kansas City (and spending a good part of early adulthood in Spain), she’s developed a unique musical taste that’s influenced by soul, jazz, bossa nova, hip-hop, RnB, and house music.

• In the booth: elliephunk’s club sets tend to be irresistibly sweet, yet SPICY. Her body-moving selects generally pull from a housey mix of bouncy minimal sounds, handbag vocals, rhythmic Afro/Latin beats, and UKG breaks… usually lined with a groovy, punchy bass. She’s also known for sprinkling in '80s soul and nostalgic ’90s RnB/hip-hop samples for extra flavor.

• Beyond the decks: as founder, catalyst, and “main mamacita” at casadephunk (a.k.a. casa), she’s taking an offbeat approach to event curation and shaping a new community around the concept “casa = house = home”. Bouncing between cozy, elevated in-house programs and thoughtfully cute club nights, casa’s events bring together a diverse mix of artists from various disciplines and experience levels: from visual to design, to fashion, to live music, to DJs and producers. Plus, with its rolling “emerging artist open call” concept, casa keeps its doors open to new talent while shifting the spotlight onto both established rising stars from Berlin’s queer scene, as well as newer local POC/FLINTA/queer artists and allies.
