Hildashaus e.V. joins Refuge Worldwide for a special episode for the upcoming Feminist Struggles Day, centered on the theme of safe space - what it means, how it is practiced, and why it matters.
In this episode, we speak about our work and our latest project Noor Amal, and share more about our upcoming Fundraiser on the 7th March at Panke, where we will host a community-focused market, workshops, performances and DJs, alongside delicious Palestinian food, in response to systematic funding cuts targeting migrant-led feminist and grassroots initiatives.
Alongside the conversation, we will curate a music selection that includes songs deeply connected to our feminist journeys as individuals — sounds rooted in resistance, memory, and collective liberation.
For us, safe space operates on multiple levels: structural, relational, physical, and internal. It is not something we claim to create alone, but something we continuously practice together, within our projects, in our relationships, and in how we learn to sit with ourselves.
For this episode, we have invited someone very special to Hildashaus’ journey: Cérise Carson (she/they), Community Manager at BIWOC* Rising and Founder of Reset-Mom and WITHIN ELEMENT.
BIWOC* Rising has been an important safe space for us, a place where we host some of our projects and where relationships of trust have grown over time, creating beautiful memories. At the same time, Cérise personally has played a meaningful role in our organizational journey, accompanying us with clarity and deep care. Through their work within BIWOC* Rising and their own initiatives, Cérise holds spaces where self-empowerment and collective healing can emerge, grounded in a powerful understanding: “The body is not a project; it is an ecosystem.”
