The Band I Trust: Orchestrated Noise & Worldmaking

Using band making as a starting point, a group of students from the Spatial Strategies MA at Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin come together to research the possibilities of collaborative sounding. In the complex interplay, where ignorance of the sonic is recognised as an active and systemic construct rather than simply a lack of knowledge, three bands came to be:

OHM Sound Collective is formed to explore sonic panoramas and environments from our integrants' individual perspectives. We present a cartography of tones, noises and murmurs, spanning to reach a first compilation. Come wander with us...Dre, Beo, Stilli, Reyna, Nischal, and Fran. and Charli.

and Motherchips & The Razor Tapes Orchestra.

A noise and improvisation research group, using communal sounding and modular experimentation, to develop soundscapes that bridge fiction and reality.

The Master of Arts programme in “Spatial Strategies” emerged from the vision of an artistic and urban design practice that acts on city space. It tackles the necessity to reconsider the concepts of “space” and “publicness” (Öffentlichkeit) in a world that is drastically transforming under the effects of globalisation, and to expand the scope of artistic practices in the social context.
