With Kajcool

Kajcool is a guitarist, music producer, vocalist, and DJ based in Tehran, active within Iran’s independent music scene. Known by friends and people back home as “Little Batman,” his musical direction is not tied to a single genre — he moves freely between electronic and non-electronic forms, exploring sound with curiosity rather than boundaries.

Alongside his production work, he runs Garm o Zendeh, a YouTube channel shaped like a radio space and community hub, which he operates together with a dedicated team. Until now, the channel has mainly focused on DJ mixes, but moving forward, he aims to work directly with artists — both electronic and non-electronic — recording their music, talking with them, and sharing their creative process. Working consistently in music in Iran comes with serious challenges due to the political situation, yet this has become one of his biggest motivations: to keep pushing, to find ways to collaborate beyond borders, and to make international creative work possible despite these obstacles — keeping the community alive and connected to a wider, worldwide creative landscape.

For this submission to Refugee Worldwide, Kajcool chose to explore a different direction by crafting a Jazz Drum & Bass mix. The contrast between jazz-inspired harmonies and fast broken‑beat energy reflects both his guitar and vocal background and his interest in bringing unexpected musical worlds together.
