Disko Souk: Talking Disco | John Morales

Ahead of our show on November 6th at LARK Berlin, Disko Souk takes over Refuge Worldwide for a special broadcast with NYC disco legend John Morales, hosted and interviewed by Julian Bainbridge.

Starting out in the 1970s splicing ¼” reel-to-reel tape on cassette decks, Bronx-born Morales went on to shape the sound of club music, headlining iconic venues like Studio 54 and creating over 650 mixes under his legendary M&M moniker alongside Sergio Munzibai. Julian sits down with John to discuss his pioneering tape edit techniques, his timeless production legacy (from Jocelyn Brown to Marvin Gaye), and the records that defined an era.
