Buriti Session viva Hermeto Pascoal | João Comazzi & Mariana Zwarg

With João Comazzi and Mariana Zwarg

For the first Buriti Session of the year, we gather in sound and memory to honor one of the most visionary and boundary breaking musicians to ever walk this earth, Hermeto Pascoal. A fearless composer, improviser, and alchemist, Hermeto transformed the way we understand rhythm, harmony, and the very idea of “universal music.” His legacy continues to inspire generations of artists across the globe.

In this special tribute broadcast, we are deeply honored to welcome Mariana Zwarg, flutist, saxophonist, composer, arranger, and a powerful voice of Brazil’s contemporary instrumental scene. Representing the third generation of musicians carrying forward the tradition of Música Universal, the movement created by her godfather Hermeto Pascoal, Mariana has spent more than fifteen years performing throughout Latin America, Europe and beyond, expanding this living musical language with her own creative vision.

explore sounds, and reflections on Hermeto’s influence, the evolution of universal music, and the vibrant future being shaped by artists like Mariana Zwarg.
