Refuge Worldwide, United Identities & ChariTea present a visual and musical installation of vital, and in some cases overlooked, albums from the history of Black Music.
Taking place during the week of ADE, we'll be running an installation of vinyl records and artworks at the Volkshotel's Werkplaats space. We have curated 25 records, stretching back to the 1950s, which will be on display from Thursday to Sunday, alongside artworks in the hotel windows which will hang for three months.
Our DJs will be playing music from all the LPs on show, while guests can read texts about the social context of the music they're hearing and check out the album covers.
On the Thursday evening in the Volkshotel basement (DOKA), CARISTA's United Identities takeover features ANZ, Conrad Soundsystem, Le Kacang and Scalio (live) on the line up. The project continues our collaboration with ChariTea's Groove For Good initiative, which kicked off in Berlin in August and also included CARISTA.
