SUCHI

SUCHI’s global-inspired club vision is joyous, a technicolor-hued wonder of eclectic dancefloor propulsions that sees her output as a producer, DJ, label/party founder at Ikke Sant and Rinse FM residency shine singularly.

Tracing a lineage from her Indian and Norwegian heritage through to formative raving experiences in London and New York now finds SUCHI embodying a unique ethos and sound that ambitiously encompasses all of her composite influences. It’s a rare talent, born from a keen sense of community, that infuses into all of her varied work within dance music; from her curation of the SUCHI SELECTS compilation for New Delhi’s boxout.fm showcasing forward-thinking South Asian producers to her celebrated DJ sets and critically acclaimed productions.

Her tracks mark her artistic high point; kinetically bouncing around polyrhythms and flighted melodies, situated within a modern house framework and buoyant by weighty low ends. Last year’s breakout EP ‘Birdy Bell’ for Ghostly International’s Spectral Sound sub-label highlighted this best, a 4 track knockout of modern house groove wrapped in prog sensibilities that included a remix from Nick León and touted as one of 2023’s standout releases by Resident Advisor and Mixmag. Now 2024 commences with Ghungroo, her debut EP for the seminal !K7 that features a rework from Sam Goku and already a fixture of clubs globally thanks to wide DJ support. This EP further extrapolates on her burgeoning talent while finessing her own voice, an EP of undeniably euphoric and psychedelic dance music. These releases were preceded by much-loved EPs for Seb Wildblood’s Coastal Haze and Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce.

SUCHI’s high energy DJ style and eclectic selections has already helped her become a permanent fixture of clubs around the world. Noted appearances at Fabric, Phonox, Warehouse Project, Glastonbury, By:Larm, Sonar Festival, Waterworks, Magnetic Fields and ADE, two landmark broadcasts for Boiler Room (alongside an India tour with Parris and Nikki Nair for the platform), an Australian tour supporting Jon Hopkins, while also recorded notable mixes for DJ Mag, NTS Radio, BBC Radio 6 and HÖR.

Her output across all her impressively varied disciplines is vast, but shepherded with SUCHI’s inimitable touch that harnesses her unique voice within dance music to shed a light on the global potential in both community and sound while offering a window into her talent as a music maker.
