Nine Fumi Yamamoto-Masson

Nine Fumiko Yamamoto-Masson is a Japanese-French interdisciplinary artist, researcher, translator, and community organiser. She joined the BIWOC*Rising team in January 2024. In her own artistic&scholarly research and practice, she focuses on grassroots resistance against regimes of knowledge and power, necropolitics, and gendered violence of the militarist (neo-)imperialisms of Japan, Europe, U.S. and their intersections as well as (post)nuclear epistemologies. Her work, rooted in intersectional feminist abolitionism, highlights networked resistance, transformation, especially art as a method of counter-knowledge in internationalist-antiimperialist alliances against historical revisionist narratives.
