Growing up in the ghetto of Bucharest, I saw privileged kids co-opt hip hop culture, pretending to be from the streets for street cred. But if you truly grew up marginalized, you wouldn’t have the same access to the music industry or opportunities. I want to break that boundary, sharing real stories of resistance through my rap and acting. In a better future, Roma actors would have equal opportunities in theater, without being boxed into stereotypical roles based on the color of their skin.
