Host of House of Highlife, a radio show that pays tribute to some of Mandel's favourite genres: house, highlife and beyond.

Just as house music has many styles, on the show you will not only hear highlife but also juju music, zouk, compas and other styles from the motherland and its diaspora. The name of the show is also a wordplay and salute to the origins of house music that lead to the appearance of so many different genres, its pioneers, the ballroom scene ('House of...') and house music culture overall. Highlife celebrates a part of my roots and culture, a sound that was always with me growing up. A sound with so many beautiful and hypnotic, even psychedelic rhythms. On these episodes you will also hear other West African and Afro diasporic music.
