libelle

libelle is a contemporary jazz project led by German saxophonist, composer and producer Wanja Slavin. Bringing together a group of outstanding improvisers, the ensemble explores an open, fluid and deeply contemporary approach to jazz, where composition and spontaneous creation continuously inform one another. Conceived as a return to raw improvisation after years of studio-focused production work, libelle embraces the human, unpredictable and collective dimensions of music-making. In response to the growing standardisation of music through technology and AI, the project creates space for risk, intuition and genuine interaction, allowing each performance to unfold as a unique encounter shaped in real time.
