Kim Dürbeck

Kim Dürbeck (aka Kim Thanh Ngo) is a Norwegian-Vietnamese artist, DJ, producer, and composer whose work bridges cultures and eras of electronic music. A co-founder of Lek Rec and part of the Club Kowloon (HK/NO) collective, his music folds together jungle, techno, electro, ambient, and jazz with deep nods to his Vietnamese heritage and family roots in Phu Yen.

In 2023, he released his debut solo 6-track 12” vinyl on Lek Rec — a record pulsing with hardcore rave energy and Vietnamese traditional influences, following years of eclectic output on labels like Nhạc Gãy, Dugnad Rec, Project90, Club Kowloon, and HMD. His track “Nuoc Mắm Is My Holy Water” stands as a playful and poignant symbol of the Vietnamese diaspora in global club culture. Kim has composed for The National Norwegian Theater (Samtaler med bror, 2022), produced for the group Liar, and remixed artists such as Ary, Harald Lassen, and Nothing Personal.

Dedicated to collaboration and community, Kim also works in social projects supporting youth, immigrants, and the LGBTQ+ community — reflecting the same boundary-crossing spirit that defines his music.
