Juçara Marçal

Juçara Marçal is a singer from Duque de Caxias, RJ, Brazil, who carries strong influences from the Afro-Brazilian religions as well as from Brazilian popular culture and experimental music. Some of her releases have been ENCARNADO (2014), Sambas do Absurdo (2017) and Delta Estácio Blues (2021). She’s part of São Paulo’s trio Metá Metá which has created a fusion style that involves anything from rock and free-form jazz to the spiritual music of the Afro-Brazilian religion Candomblé. She has also been a member of the groups Vésper Vocal, A Barca, and Ilu Obá de Min.
