Alex Samuels

Alex Samuels is based in Palermo, where he co-founded Radio Dopo in 2025 together with Flora Pitrolo. He is the former editor-in-chief of Electronic Beats Magazine and previously headed Ostgut Ton, Berghain’s in-house label, as well as sub-labels A-TON and unterton. He has written and reported on German politics, culture and music for The Wire, Handelsblatt, die taz, Artnet, Huffington Post, Sleek Magazine, and Deutsche Welle (amongst others). Along with his own label management agency TJA, he also currently manages Danfotronics, a label founded by Nigerian sound artist and musician Emeka Ogboh, which focuses on field recordings and experimental electronic music from Nigeria, West Africa and beyond.
