Teshi’s Fine Hour is a listening session dedicated to hyper-specific genres of music. Each episode features a guest who highlights a moment in popular music history that is often overlooked or underappreciated. In this episode, we welcome kidkanevil, a Berlin-based producer/DJ and Refuge Worldwide resident, to explore the bleeps and artistry of 16-bit video game music with a focus on the Super Nintendo and Sega Megadrive era. Teshi and kidkanevil will trace the history of these two consoles through the soundtracks, pioneers and composers, examining how they forged a musical identity through technology and rivalry, creating a lasting legacy on generations of music makers.
