Saturating drums, swinging Krakeb, psych Rhaita fluttering, Kwitra or Sintir in desert whirlpools and occasional chants..a journey to trancing states, spiritual guidance, heavy body music.

We are diving into North African sounds, from Morocco to Algeria, tracing back traditions, heritage of indigenous populations, Berbers (Amazigh people), Gnawa and the Arabic (Maghreb, meaning where the sunsets in Arabic) influence. Past to present, the music from the region.

This show features some early discoveries I had in Chaabi, contemporary Rai or music from Jajouka. But most of all, it features the most recent discoveries, tapes in Agadir with the very fortunate existence of the shop, keeper of the musical inheritance of the region, Zaman (@records_zaman).
