Sturgeon Playlist is a show dedicated to the music of the Caspian region – Azerbaijan, Dagestan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran.

The first edition of the show is dedicated to the upcoming birthday of the godfather of contemporary Azerbaijani jazz and funk, composer Rafig Babayev (March 31, 1936), one of the most influential people from the region.

Rafig Babayev was a key figure in Azerbaijan's music scene, famous for blending jazz with traditional Azerbaijani sounds. His innovative approach helped jazz gain a strong foothold in Azerbaijan, leaving a lasting impact that continues to inspire the country's musicians and music lovers alike.
