The worlds of bass and poetry collide in this episode of Sonic Stanza, as host Tempestfeather welcomes Berlin-based musician, writer, and poet Philipp Rhensius, aka Alienationist, to the Refuge studio.

Alienationist is a writer, poet, editor, and musician blending bass-driven club music, live percussion, queer theory, ambient, and spoken word. He is the co-founder of Arcane Patterns, a label for bass-heavy music and sonic fiction, and editor of acclaimed music-led publication Norient.

United by their unusual editorial-meets-bassline backgrounds as writers, poets, and bass DJs, Alienationist and Tempestfeather engage in a sonic conversation weaving rhythm, sound, and language — from low-end frequencies to low-end verses.
