In this edition of SAHRA SOUNDS, Nour Nouralla (founder of SAHRA) and Alias Shay (SAHRA’s resident DJ) spotlight the voices and sounds of Arab* women* DJs from around the world. Through a mix of conversation and curated DJ sets, the show celebrates their artistry while unpacking the cultural, social, and industry barriers that continue to limit their visibility. It’s a reflection on resilience, representation, and what it means to take up space behind the decks as an Arab* woman*.

Sahra Sounds is the radio series by SAHRA, Berlin’s pioneering Arabic club night. Broadcasting from Refuge Worldwide, the show explores the fusion of traditional SWANA/Arabic sounds with modern electronic beats. Each episode features members of the SAHRA collective in conversation and curation, offering a deep dive into the music, stories, and sonic identities of the SWANA diaspora.
