Miss Sarajevo Returns | Ned Dillon & Albie Swingler

I’ll be speaking with filmmaker Albie Swingler about his upcoming documentary Miss Sarajevo Returns, recently filmed in the Netherlands and Bosnia.

The film revisits the story of Inela Nogić, who at just 17 was crowned Miss Besieged Sarajevo 1993 in the midst of the Bosnian War. The underground pageant became a striking act of defiance and resilience. Inela’s victory framed by a banner reading “DON’T LET THEM KILL US” captured global attention.

Albie also has excellent taste in music, so we’ll of course be weaving some tracks into our conversation.
