Joe Arroyo, born Álvaro José Arroyo González on November 1, 1955, in Cartagena de Indias, is a name that resonates deeply within the world of tropical music. Known for his vibrant energy and groundbreaking style, Joe became a legendary figure in Colombian music.

Starting his musical journey at just 15, Joe's exceptional talent quickly landed him spots in major orchestras like "Fruko y sus Tesos, "Super Combo los Diamantes" de Rubén Darío Salcedo y "Latin Brothers". By the 1970s, he had carved out a unique niche for himself, creating the distinctive "Joeson" sound—a fusion of salsa, cumbia, porro, zouk, soca, and various Afro-Caribbean rhythms.

Throughout his career, recorded more than 20 studio albums with his own orchetra "Joe Arroyo y La Verdad". His repertoire includes over 200 songs, many of which have become classics in tropical music. Although Joe Arroyo passed away on July 26, 2011, his legacy endures. His music continues to enliven parties and festivals and his influence spans generations.
