Masala Movement is a non-profit platform for transcultural creativity and community. Since 2004, the initiative has been connecting people, ideas, and cultural practices to challenge stereotypes and contribute to a more inclusive society. With roots in post-migrant perspectives, Masala Movement explores identity, memory, and belonging – through music, art, and shared experiences. Since 2020, the Masala Movement Music Podcast has been releasing monthly mixes and conversations that bring together diverse musical influences from around the world. In 2023, the platform expanded into a label, Masala Movement Records, focusing on cross-cultural sounds and creative collaboration. For this fourth edition, music producer and Masala Movement label manager Todh Teri invites - Cheffe, a German - Bangladeshi DJ / Producer who is also responsible for Bookings and Event organisation at Masala Movement. Hailing from cologne - proving that south asian music is not only made for bollywood movies. rooted in uk underground sound culture, cheffe has been digging & producing uk bass music for nearly a decade now. in the last few years he started constantly infusing south asian soundscapes into his sets & productions, making his cultural upbringing a key part of his creative process. expect all things bass, but make it south asian!
