Kampfumo: Sound Experience | Nandele Maguni

With Nandele Maguni

Kampfumo is an experimental sound experience by Nandele Maguni, conceived during an artist residency at ZHdK–ICST Spatial Studio in Zurich. The project moves between electronic ritual, noise, and deep rhythmic textures, rooted in the sonic and spiritual landscapes of Maputo, Mozambique. It channels the pulse of the city’s transport system — the chapa 100 — as a metaphor for collective movement, memory, and resistance. Through live electronics, field recordings, and collaborative improvisation, Kampfumo creates a space where the mechanical and the ancestral coexist, vibrating through the body like a communal trance.
