Welcome to this Episode of Radio Calais. It’s a busy one. The rise of global fascism, the militarisation of borders everywhere. No surprise that we have too much cover, too much to say. Immigration enforcement, both sides of the Atlantic, deportations, that the mainstream media report as a matter of successful figures rather than an abuse of human rights. But, there is hope, always, below the headlines. We talk to those resisting these related repressions. It’s our pleasure to speak to Floralis, an anarchist musician, about building queer and trans solidarity with refugees and asylum seekers; she also talks us through her understanding of how to stop an immigration raid, how to support people in detention.

Nik is on ICE in the USA. And, Nik closes the show with analysis of Operation Overlord, it’s our Calais Update unfortunately. Cate has an update, too, on the One in One Out scheme and resistance to it from within detention centres, including our local one, Brook House.
