The first panel discussion of the series focuses on the fragility of diasporic identities with the work of Semra Ertan and presents critical outlooks on the terms tradition and homeland. The discussion examines early practices of migrant identities inside colonial German history and how representation of the foreigner determines integrational practices maintaining structural forms of discrimination and racism inside Germany’s cultural and bureaucratic systems.
