'Funktastique Voyage' in da house | Femdelic & Walla P

With Femdelic and Walla P

Montréal's Walla P, head of Voyage Funktastique, a global brand encompassing radio shows, a party series and record label will be in town and I'm beyond happy to have him on the show. He was one of the first figures, creating access to me and probably many others, getting in touch with a contemporary boogie sound, shaping with his work, dedication and continuity this particular scene. Walla P is going to play some Montréal boogie and other 45"s from his collection and we'll have a nice session talking about Frankie Beverly, an iconic figure in funk and soul and founder and lead singer of the band Maze, who passed away recently. Beverly’s and Maze's music, marked by uplifting melodies and lyrics about love, resilience and its emotional depth, has shaped the sound of R&B in the 1970s and 80s.
