Hi and hallo, my name is Christin aka. Cath Boo, I am a DJ and we will join the next 60 minutes together for this episode of the f:p podcast. I've been part of the network since 2017 and especially the database that was initiated by Electric Indigo was a huge inspiration for my project 365 female DJs, that I startet on 1th January 2023. The plan was/is to publish an artist every day with the associated hard facts and an illustraton of the person. Geographically, 365 female DJs began with performances in Saxony (Germany) and then moved across the time through the federal states and at some point beyond national borders. It is a visualization and further development of the female:pressure database, numerous other networks and crews operating in a smaller area. I hope that the visibility of female and genderqueer DJs will continue to increase and help to make bookings even more balanced. Because I want to build bridges. For visibility. For diversity. For options. The 365 female DJs project is largely inspired by Lina Burghausen (Mona Lina Promo, Label 365xxRecords). She established the inital campaign with 365 female MCs. (www.365femalemcs.com) I accidently got to know her while Corona-Pandemie in 2020 because she was looking for an co-working space in Chemnitz. I own a little atelier for design & embroidery and so she found there a spot to work in home-office mode. Existing female networks worldwide - above all female:pressure - and also numerous natoinwide crews and networks have already made a signifcant contributon to making female and non- binary artsits more visible and representing them. 365 female DJs would like to build on this as another building block. So please follow us and share diversity. For that reason I want to play the first track of this show from Maria die Ruhe - Equalista, an female producer and DJ from Leipzig. She also was part of the first 365 fdjs Showcase at Distillery Leipzig last year, where I had the honor to meet her in real life and felt in love with her personality. The second track was an production from Juliane Wolf, great female producer and DJ from Greiz and a so adoreable person. She was part of the first showcase, too. This is her latest relase together with Nihil Young. Glacier. As well as the f:p network I´m focused on supporting female artists. That´s why I founded the local network and booking agency DIEDA in Chemnitz together with Liza Main several years ago. At the Moment we represent 22 artists, especially female DJs but also visual artists, singer/songwriter, performer,tattooartists and photographer. You can find further infos at dieda.me if you like. Furthermore I´m part of the Women of Techno Crew. Six incredible women: Fuxia, Tøsche, Jelena, Indiana Jane, Petti Jefferson and me. We regulary organize Showcases and push us each other, which is an very important source of empowerment and inspiration for me. I´m very grateful to have them in my life. As a DJ I personally love to play soulful house, with touching melodies, driving bass or even break beat elements. I also enjoy the magic of jazzy, tribal or oriental inspired productions. I always try to create an certain energy of „close your eyes and dance“. So the next music pieces are from people that I appreciate and love to listen to their creations. Who knows me, knows that I´m addicted to dance to liquid drum and bass in my freetime. And because of my research for 365fdjs I discovered Amy Dabbs`great works. I discovered her work because of my 365fdjs project an immitately felt in love with her productions. A DJ and Producer I follow since his very first beginnings, because we are from the same small region of Saxony and know each other. His debutalbum „Year of I“ (2022) impressed me enormious and I love to listen to it regulary when I drive to my gigs.
