Black Sonic Delights

Black Sonic Delights is a new radio show series centering on playfulness, groove, and Black Joy. Hosted by your favorite vinyl duo, Ami Wokloni and Nzambisa, each episode will feature music from the African continent and its diasporas through a thematic, Afro-diasporic, intersectional lens.

Staying true to ourselves, we will highlight renowned and lesser-known emblematic figures of Black Music in analogue format, nonetheless in our very special way: laughing, dancing, frolicking.

Darker, shorter, colder days call for stillness, reminiscence, and introspection. For our first two-hour episode, we would like to talk about the most heartwarming, yet most heartbreaking subject: love. In its entirety, in its complexity. What is love? How do we attain it? How do we show it? How do we feel love(d)? What about desire? Who has the right to desire, or to be desirable? Who has the right to simply… be? Using music as a living record of the many ways we relate to love, or simply conversation prompts, we're inviting you to reflect with us on learning to love ourselves as well as others, as an ongoing process, in various cultural contexts. Always in rhythm, always in tune.
