An Endless River (The Soundscape) | Osaji Chinedu George

With Osaji Chinedu George

The soundscape of the debut solo exhibition “An Endless River” by multidisciplinary artist Osaji Chinedu George

ARTIST STATEMENT: My first solo exhibition is showing in Lagos this October. It is titled “An Endless River”, and it is a presentation of surreal charcoal drawings and video art that take from indigenous Igbo cosmology to explore ancestral memory, inherited grief, and narratives that stretch across generations

The exhibition adopts the ancestral Ubulu tree of my heritage to consider the idea of past lives and the lessons we forget and learn across lifetimes. In making this body of work, I applied a process I call “conscious dreaming” to examine how the spirit keeps memory and finds healing.

The following sonic presentation features spoken word written by me and performed by my cousin, as well as found recordings and musical compositions that’ll immerse you in a textural and dreamlike soundscape.

Kindly visit my website to see more from the exhibition: ocgeorge.com

Blessings to the great spirit. Blessings to you and I 🌳
