About ALTER-NATIVE ALTER-NATIVE is a multidisciplinary art platform born out of a solidarity-driven event held on January 17 and 18 at 90mil. Bringing together over 60 artists from diverse nationalities and ethnicities—many based in Berlin and others from across the globe—we created a collective space to celebrate heritage, roots, resilience, and resistance. Through film screenings, music, dance, visual art, and poetry, these artists shared powerful stories that challenged systems of oppression while embracing love, hope, and connection.
At the heart of ALTER-NATIVE lies the belief that art has the power to break barriers and inspire change. We are here to witness and create art that fights, loves, and reimagines. Because you can’t spell "Alternative" without NATIVE.
About the Talk Show In this special two-hour show, Savannah and Tamara from Alter-Native will be hosting a talk show taking listeners through the journey of ALTER-NATIVE—how it started, what it stands for, and where it’s headed. They will explore the stories of resistance, resilience, and creative expression that brought this platform to life.
In the second hour the conversation will spotlight two inspiring artists: poet Asta The Poet and visual artist Utera Arte, who will share their journeys, inspirations, and reflections on the role of art in activism. Centering the voices of our artists remains key to everything we do at ALTER-NATIVE.
The show will also feature live sets by DJ Aalia and DJ Triqi, as well as our co-organizer Ayman Ghali, who will share tracks reminiscent of revolutionary music from the Middle East, reflecting the spirit of resistance and hope. Each DJ will have a 20 minute music block to throughout the 2 hours in between 10 minutes of dialogue.
