Producer/DJ and laptop music geek kidkanevil has developed a distinctive and progressive sound over the years, gleefully joining the dots between beats, bass, hip-hop, jazz, jungle, anime OSTs, video game music, and beyond.

This month, he is joined by special guest and self-claimed Berlin’s nerdiest music nerd from Japan, Teshi, for a Japanese laptop music of the 2000s special.

Teshi has worked at Kyoto’s legendary Jet Set Records, written for the Fader and the Japan Times, and ran a successful bilingual music blog for over 15 years. Now based in Berlin, he hosts Teshi’s Fine Hour, a monthly listening and talking session dedicated to overlooked and under-appreciated music genres.
