Free Open Air - May Day 2026

We are hosting a beach party in Berlin on Friday 1st May.

By Staff

This Friday 1st
May from 12:00-22:00, Refuge Worldwide takes to Beach Neukölln for a ten-hour, two stage open-air party. We've got thirteen DJs from the station coming in hot, food stalls, and a fresh soundsystem installation for what will be our first ever May Day without Oona Bar. RSVP here.

It's free entry, with our first stage on the beach area, and a second DJ area in the Berliner Berg Biergarten.

Over on the beach area we have a completely new soundsystem installation from our friends at EasySound Berlin, while the garten will be kitted out by SOUNDBOKS. Spinning in the afternoon session is Richard Akingbehin, Edna Martinez, a special first time Refuge Worldwide slot for Laktui, plus a back-to-back from MLE (Rhythm Section) and Stephen Howe. Into the evening sees things heat up as Kikelomo and Meg10 close it down.

Across the arena's walkway you'll pass various food stalls before hitting the beer garden where we've got Helena Fontaine's Discos da Jajá project with carefully sourced vinyls from Brazil, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Haiti, La Réunion, and Cabo Verde. Robert Machiri & Shiru bring Afrobeat and jazz, Joumana spins sounds ranging from funk and disco to jazz fused Arabic and African acid. Tina & Key Clef, hosts of the popular Rapreflection show on Refuge Worldwide, are sure to treat us to expert leftfield hip-hop and rap selections.

Entry is totally free all day, while we'll be asking for a suggested 2€ donation at the door. 50% of this will go to charity, with the second 50% going to cover the staff working in the venue.

We can't wait to see everyone.
