Launching on September 11th , as part of Berlin Art Week, LAS Art Foundation presents a newly commissioned audio-visual installation, Christelle Oyiri's Dead God Flow, and a live event series curated by Shannen SP and GLOR1A (CEL), Foundations. The programmes will run until October 19th at CANK in Berlin Neukölln. Both projects explore "resilience, and the construction of identity and asks us to think differently about the future."

Oyiri (also known as DJ CRYSTALLMESS) has put together her first large-scale installation in Berlin, an audiovisual environment consisting of video, sound, and spatial design. LAS reveals that "at [the installation's] core is the video Hauntology of an OG, which Christelle Oyiri developed with Ghanian-Canadian photographer Neva Wireko during a research journey through Memphis, Tennessee – a city whose name refers to ancient Egypt."

Alongside Oyiri's work, the UK-based CEL collective, founded by DJ Shannen SP and GLOR1A, present Foundations, "an ongoing and international project exploring Black futurity and creative resistance. It is the next iteration of Nine Nights: Channel B, which Shannen SP and GLOR1A co-presented at the ICA London in 2021.

Through performance, sharing and radical imagination, Foundations seeks to prototype an alternative infrastructure for thriving – one where Black and diasporic artists can explore notions of self and collective preservation in a landscape of precarity, political divide, and planetary decline." Foundations launches with an opening night on 11th September, and closes with a party on October 19th. More details on the musical curation will be released soon.

Refuge Worldwide will be a media partner of the project as a whole, presenting additional content via the radio channel and supporting the events. Find more information on the projects via the LAS website here.
