Yuki Nakagawa

Yuki Nakagawa is a Kyoto-based musician and performer. Self-taught on the cello, he has developed a distinctive practice of composition and performance. While working with the cello, an instrument often described as being closest to the human voice, he also employs extended techniques that treat the instrument percussively, as well as performances using his own handmade bows.

Nakagawa has long engaged with forms of expression beyond music, continuously providing music for various groups and artists and taking part in collaborative performances. In 2022, he launched KAKUHAN, a duo project with Koshiro Hino (goat, YPY). In 2025, he released an album on the UK label Modern Love as a member of the unit Saraudon. In 2026, his first solo album, Stills and Remains, was released by the Dutch label Unheard of Hope.
