Yasmin Acar

Yasemin Acar, is a 37-year-old activist from Germany, born and raised in the country to Kurdish parents from Turkey. She has been an activist since the age of 15, advocating for refugees, and human rights, and against anti-Muslim racism. Yasemin has collaborated with several organizations to help refugees settle in Germany and has extensive experience working with youth. During the invasion of Ukraine, she helped mobilize 15,000 volunteers and created Berlin Arrival Support. During that time, she advised the Berlin Senate on handling the refugee crisis and applied pressure on the government. Yasemin has been a vocal advocate for Palestine for many years and is now organizing mass demonstrations, direct actions and various events in Berlin.

Coming from a Kurdish family, she feels that resistance is not a choice but a way of life. Her parents taught her to always follow the path of "HAQ," as they believed it to be the most noble way to live. Yasemin is a firm believer in social justice and the rights and safety of children. She believes that instead of seeking peace, we should strive for justice because where justice exists, peace is assured.
