Vanyfox, born Paulo Alexandre, is an Angolan-Portuguese DJ and producer who has risen to international fame thanks to his innovative fusion of Angolan rhythms and contemporary electronic sounds such as afrobeats and house. Raised in Lisbon, he drew from his Angolan roots and the vibrant musical scene of the Portuguese capital to develop a unique sound identity. At the age of 12, Vanyfox began composing and sharing his first productions on SoundCloud, quickly catching the attention of renowned producer and DJ Branko (from the Enchufada label), who featured him on the compilation "Enchufada Na Zona Vol. 2", marking the official launch of his professional career.
Vanyfox is also a member of the Moonshine collective, based between Montreal and Paris, known for its multicultural events and work in promoting Afro-diasporic music. Moonshine organizes the famed Moonshine Parties, underground events held in unique locations around the world, including Montreal, Paris, New York, and Kinshasa. These events provide a platform for the collective’s artists to perform in contexts that combine music, visual arts, and Afro-electronic culture. Moonshine is also active in music production with collaborative albums like "SMS for Location", to which Vanyfox contributed as a producer.
