Nicoba

Nicoba is a producer and DJ hailing from Santiago de Chile. Currently based in Amsterdam, he has become one of the key forces platforming South American club music in the city. He builds his artistic vision by incorporating sounds from the wide and rich spectrum of Latin rhythms, synthesizing them into a contemporary sound that opens up new territory for South American club music. He holds a monthly residency at Echobox Radio, using the platform to spotlight music from Latin America and its diaspora. As co-founder of the Machete collective, he has organized parties at Amsterdam clubs like Garage Noord and Kanaal40, creating much needed spaces for these sounds. In his DJ sets, Nicoba explores rhythmic landscapes full of deep bass and twisting, mutating percussion, weaving together influences from Chilean urbano, bass, RKT, and experimental electronica to create an intense and visceral sonic journey.
